How to be a Trans Ally

The event is expired

Have you ever wondered how you react if you are introduced to a transgender person?  Would you worry about offending them by saying the wrong things?  Are you an employer who would rather not employ a trans person as you worry how they may be integrated with the rest of your workforce?  Do you worry how you would react if one of your friends, relatives, colleagues or employees came out as being trans?  If the answer to any of these questions is yes, this dynamic workshop is for you.

Trans ambassador Katie Neeves of Cool2BTrans will be leading this FREE 2-hour workshop and she will tell the story of her long walk to womanhood.  She lived for nearly 50 years as a man before accepting that she is trans woman and starting her transition.  It’s a very powerful story and one not to be missed!  She will also tell you why trans-awareness training is needed, explain trans terminology, tell you about the stages of a transgender journey and give you top tips for being a trans ally.  She will also answer ANY questions – no holds barred!

Katie is so comfortable talking about being trans and she is not afraid to share some of the more humorous aspects of being so.  Prepare to be entertained as well as informed!

This event is completely free to attend and all you need to do is register to attend for free.

Should you wish to make a donation to EDI Network to assist in covering costs, this is entirely optional and you can book as a £5 donation ticket here.
